Our history

On the entrance Szekler gate is a quote by Károly Kós "I did what I had to do, as I could and as I could."

Indeed we did, we did what we had to do, because in 2006, when my friend László Bíró and I were here, this place: the forest, the Benkő spring, called us, gave us a task. In response to this call, we have been working here in this hidden valley ever since.

First we worked on the restoration of the medicinal water reservoir, then we completed the house and the farm buildings based on Kós Károly’s plans. We worked together to clear the stream and the forest, to repair the roads and finally to build the guest houses and utilities. We did all this to the best of our ability and to the best of our ability, as the renowned architect put it.

OUR VALUES

We believe that the true value is to experience the closeness of nature, the ability to live with flora and fauna. We would like to connect with people who share the same vision of environmental awareness and sustainability!

Our aim is that those who visit our guesthouse leave with a surplus.

This place commits us and everyone who visits as guests to respect and appreciate nature and wildlife. We want to share this experience and make it available to others.

VISIT US

Our social engagement is to provide programmes where people can step out of the usual urban hustle and bustle to get in touch with nature, e.g. organising forest schools for children, running theme camps, nature trails, trying out and learning traditional forest activities, forest management, woodcutting, herb collecting, mushroom picking and many more.
